Bogalusa Bass Club Rules 1. Conditions of tournaments will be set at the commit meeting by the club members before entry fees are paid. Date will be set (1) month in advance at monthly meetings, with exceptions of both out-of-town tournaments, which will be set at the January meeting. All fees must be paid in full before any member fishes a tournament. 2. Entry fee for each tournament will be $25.00. $5.00 will be for the big bass pot. $19.00 will be divided as follows: 40% to first place, 25% to second place, 15% to third place and 20% to the club. Out-of-town tournament entry fees double. 3. Big bass must weigh 6 lbs. 8 oz. or more to win yearly big bass pot. If two fish over 6 lbs. 8 oz. are caught during a tournament, the heaviest fish will win. 4. Each member will keep his catch separate from his partner. All decisions of the weigh-master are final, unless it gives him the advantage. Then the president makes the decision, unless the same. Then the secretary unless he is involved, then the majority makes the final decision by secret ballot. 5. All members are required to cast a vote for each tournament, IF they are fishing. If they are not planning to fish, they should not vote. Any member may request a secret ballot. 6. All new members must be voted into the Bogalusa Bass Club by a majority vote. Perspective member(s) must leave the room during the vote. 7. Weight system: - A. Standings will be determined by weight. Each member will drop his worst (2) two tournaments for the year out of (12) twelve.
- In case of a tie on total weight, big bass will be used, then number of fish.
- In case of a tie during the tournament, big bass, then number of fish, then split between first and second.
8. 4 oz. Penalty per dead fish will be deducted for each tournament and yearly standings. This will also include both out-of-town tournaments. 9. All fish brought to the scales, whether dead or alive, must be in a weigh bag. No Landing nets, buckets, etc. may be used. Any member bringing fish to the scales in anything other than a weigh bag will have his catch disqualified. 10. Only black bass (Kentucky, Smallmouth and Largemouth) will be weighed. There will be a limit of (5)five fish per member, and fish must measure (12) twelve inches minimum or designated length per lake rules. 11. Artificial bait only. 12. Fishing must be done from the boat, no pulling boats over banks or dry land, with the exception of the Poole's Bluff or Bogue Chitto sills. Water must be accessible to all members. NO FISHING POSTED WATERS. 13. Boats must be launched at designated improved public boat launches. 14. Members may start fishing any time after starting time, but must be at the weigh-in site at closing time or be disqualified. 15. Members must commit prior or at the night of the commit meeting, and must be paid up in full before fishing. 16. For team tournaments an odd man may: withdraw, fish alone and receive his weight plus half, or choose a member who has not committed and fish with him. 17. If a member has committed but cant fish beyond his control, by vote of the club he may fish the next tournament free. 18. Tournaments will be from January to December (Saturday or Sunday), and (12) twelve tournaments per year. 19. Members can only fish twice together per year, and not (2) two consecutive tournaments together. 20. Rules can not be changed until January of the next year. New rules may be added at a monthly meeting by a majority vote. 21. The Vice-President will be the weigh-master. 22. If the tournament is on the first weekend of the month, the monthly meeting and the commit meeting will be combined. 23. All tournament times will be from safelight until 3:30 p.m. except out-of-town tournaments, Saturday and Sunday times will be determined by member vote and set on Friday night before the tournament. 24. The Bogalusa Bass Club will fish 10 (ten) doubles and 2 (two) singles. The last tournament will be singles. 25. Life jackets must be worn while running combustion engines. 26. All Federal, State and local laws must be observed at all times. 27. Any member found guilty of violating club rules can be disqualified from the tournament by a vote of tournament participants.
28. Tournaments will be limited to no more than 2 (two) fished from same landing in the year.
